I've lost so many girlfriends to this disease....

I am 42.

This song is a dedication to them.

All of this politics has exhausted me. Bush and his cronies are like a pack of insistent 3-year-olds who won't let you rest always demanding your attention.

I am ready for some adult pursuits after eight years of this shit.

That is one of my favorite songs. And when you hear the story behind it and what was going on while they were recording that album you will never forget it.

Tell me.
Tell me.
Tell me.
A good story.
Please!

Wonderfully touching post, friend. I've lost family to this cancer and to other forms of that mean disease. Breaks my heart.

Two great songs, here. Our local medical group has a big bunch of pink plastic flamingoes in front of their office building right now to remind people of the Susan G. Koman foundation and its cause. I saw them and thought of you and your pink blog. :)

I too love the song, but don't know the story behind it. If you find out, please share!

So, so you think you can tell
Heaven from Hell,
Blue skys from pain.
Can you tell a green field
From a cold steel rail?
A smile from a veil?
Do you think you can tell?

And did they get you to trade
Your heros for ghosts?
Hot ashes for trees?
Hot air for a cool breeze?
Cold comfort for change?
And did you exchange
A walk on part in the war
For a lead role in a cage?

How I wish, how I wish you were here.
We're just two lost souls
Swimming in a fish bowl,
Year after year,
Running over the same old ground.
What have we found?
The same old fears.
Wish you were here.

Excellent cause! My sweet sister is a survivor. I stopped by to say thank you for stopping by my blog. By doing so I have found another wonderful place to visit!
