Our beloved Jeri Suzanne Horne passed away on December 24, 2008. I spoke to Suzanne's father this morning, and they will be printing the online MEMORIAL BOOK as a keepsake for Bella and Campbell.

Some of you have already done this, but I have noticed that many of you posted your goodbyes on this post and the post below this one, we are asking that everyone post goodbyes in Suzanne's Memorial Book, please. Let us show the White family, especially the children, just how much we loved and appreciated Suzanne. If you have written a small poem, as long as it's original, you may post it here and it will be emailed to Mr. White, as it may be too long to go in the Memorial Book, but it can be added. Just click link below!

It was, between us, short and yet very sweet. I will miss your piquant attitude and miss even more the chance of getting to know you better.

Amias, I'm so very sorry to learn about this loss to her family and to her many friends including me in the blogosphere. She was a very talented and very special person who will be deeply missed, but take comfort in that the legacy of her art and photography and her blog will live on forever and continue to delight all who see it.

Sincerely,
Jon at Mississippi Garden blog

OK ... a bit shell shocked here

Is this what I am actually understanding it to be?

The author of this blog is ... gone

Gadfly said...

Wait, sorry.

Gee ... thinking of myself when, if what I think has come to pass is true, family is grieving *sigh*

I just wish ... I understood more ...

I am so sorry.

Suzanne was one of my first friends in the blogosphere, one who welcomed me to blogging and gave me my first blogging award. She was a very warm and caring individual. I will miss her. Rest in Peace, dearest friend.

I'm glad someone has preserved this blog and put this post here for those of us who are too physically far from Suzanne to visit. This was the place we knew her from, it seems only fitting that we should gather here now.

In a comment on my blog, one visitor said that no life is ever in vain, no matter how short, if we remember. And we will remember.

I didn't know Suzanne for very long, but some people you only have to meet to love. So I say to her here not "goodbye", but "good journey".

If I could make a suggestion, I know a lot of people wrote memorial posts on their own blogs. Because that's what bloggers do. I've run across a lot of them, but I'm sure not all. This might be a good "hub" for all the links so we can all share the memories.

Thoughts?

And if you haven't read or signed the guestbook yet, it's now permanent (as permanent as anything ever is at least).

Jojo, I have thought about the same thing, and am at this moment trying to hook it up with Mr. Linky.

If someone can help me, that would be wonderful. Jazz just contacted me with the same idea.

I think this is a wonderful idea linking all of the posts of tribute to Suzanne. Mine was posted on 12/27 and I realize I'm only one of just so many.

Suzanne, your gift of the ice cube with ribbon will high remain on my side bar for a long time.

I haven't heard from Suzanne in a while and how sad to find out why. My heart is racing from the shock. Sadness will slow it down.

"Liquid" was the first to welcome me to blogging. She found and supported me almost from day one. I was so thrilled to have someone of her talent and kindness in my corner.

Often her comments on my writing were about her mother.."My mother says the same thing"...so please know family was always in her heart.

I never met her but I felt connected to her.

Vaya con dios.

I just came across a comment Suzanne wrote on my blog in January 2008.
I just had to come by.
So sorry for the family's pain. She made a mark.
