Funny Time of Year
These silent words of conversation
Hold me now this adulation
See me now
Oh it's easy now
Falling like a silent paper
Holding on to what may be
And I only hear
Only hear the rain
And many rains turn to rivers
Winter's here
And there ain't nothing gonna change
The winds are blowing telling me all I hear
Oh it's a funny time of year
There'll be no blossom on the trees
Turning now I see no reason
The voice of love so out of season I need you now
But you can't see me now
I'm travelling with no destination
Still hanging on to what may be
It's a funny time of year
I can see
There'll be no blossom on the trees
And time spent cryin' has taken me in this year
Oh it's a funny time of year
Falling like a silent paper
Holding on to what may be
It's a funny time of year I can see
There'll be no blossom on the trees
And time spent cryin' has taken me in this year
Yeah...
It's a funny time of year
I can see no blossom no blossom on the trees

Wow! That was great.
I'm not really a big fan of most poetry (including my own) - but I really liked this one.
As I was scrolling down catching up on previous posts I found one I liked very much. It's the one titled "Classic Insults Throughout Time..."
I have seen most of these before, but never have I seen them collected in one place on one post.
My partner, Serena Joy, share a site that uses material such as this.
We are always open for and encourage guest posters to submit material for our site Verbicidal Tendencies.
We always recognize the contributors and link them as contributors on the sidebar.
With your permission, I'd like to post this on the site , naming you, of course, as a guest contributor.
Also, the two of us have been looking for more team members to join us and to post there on a rotating basis. Hint hint - that's an extended membership invite if you are interested.
Membership or not, I would like to use your post as stated above. You can either e-mail me (on my profile) or leave an answer as a comment at either of the sites.
I'm so embarrassed. I linked the wrong URL for Serena Joy's blog.
PLease forgive the confusion - the correct link is:
Serena Joy.
Serena's site is named Parenthetically Speaking - and there is site where that title is the URL for another site that I never knew about.
In spite of my faux pas - we REALLY do have a good site at VT.
I most certainly can relate --- it's the year for some, for others it's a lifetime.
